Sister Kellee Walker's Tuscon, Arizona Mission - August 25, 2014

Hola Familia

Hey there my lovely family!!

That is so great that Dad was able to do the missionary minute (:   I am sure he did great (:
And thank you for asking for prayers. It really has helped!!

As for this week, Well gosh, it was incredible!! Lots of miracles and lots of happiness to go around.
I have said it a million billion times, but guys, I LOVE being a missionary. I have talked with president about extending and he isn't necessarily opposed but here are the questions he asked me to ponder:

-Why do you want to extend?
-How will you feel if you cannot extend or choose not to request an extension?
-How will that help me to conclude my mission? To move to the next part of life? (For example, would you start school in January if you returned in December?
-Would a delay cause you to lose schooling opportunities? What about work prospects if you go home in December or February?
-How would your family react if you stayed until February?
-Given your back pain and headaches, what is best for your physically?

I think It would be great if you guys pondered these questions with me this week & give me your input in your next email? (: THANKS

So here are some exciting things that happened this week.. We got to do service this week & we painted a ladies house (dad, i remember painting my bedroom with you <3)  After 14 months of waiting to drive a truck, my wish came true this week!! YAY I got to drive it from downtown tucson up to North! We went on exchanges this week with Sister Moon and Sister Zealley. Sister Moon came to my area and we had a blast! I don't have a lot of time, but I am working on a letter for you all so i'll write about it in there (: Have I told you how much I love being a Sister Training Leader? It is a great responsibility and I have loved relying on the Lord for direction & seeing myself and other sisters grow. Sister Moon even gave me a few things to work on as a missionary & she challenged me to "List"en.  Make lists of things I want to accomplish, things i'm struggling with etc. And work specifically on LISTENING. I'm usually a good listener, but lately my brain has been going insane and I haven't had the willpower to stop and listen. So that should be fun (:

We also have a special opportunity to have a half mission conference tomorrow with Elder Malm, a member of the seventy! This morning at 8:30 we had a MLC with him and the Passeys down in Benson! It was a wonderful opportunity! I took some great notes, so i'll have to share them with you when I have more time. Which might be when I get home... hahahaha

And of course, I am out of time....
I love you all so so so much.
Be safe this week & tell keaton that I am SOOOOOO proud of him.
He is doing great!!

Love you,
Love always Sister Walker.

Sister Kellee Walker's Tuscon, Arizona Mission - August 19, 2014

Transfer Week

You'll never guess what happened for transfers?!!!

Sister Barnes & I are staying together for ANOTHER transfer!! That makes 3 transfers together, 4 months! And 6 months in North Zone for me! How great is that? Sister Barnes and I work so well together, that the Lord just wants us to keep it up!! We can definitely do that. I love Sister Barnes sooo much, I don't think she understands. hahaha But we are super excited to tear it up this transfer!!

This week has been a little out of control.. which has kept things interesting to say the least, but I AM EXHAUSTED. We had 2 exchanges again this week.

I have a lot more to tell you, but my time is unfortunately out..

So I will write you a letter!! How does that sound? (:

I Love you guys so much.
I am glad you were able to have some fun this week.

Have a great week

Love you!

Sister Kellee Walker's Tuscon, Arizona Mission - August 11, 2014

I Never Want Another Week Like This One

OH MY GOODNESS.

This week has been the week of all weeks.
I am physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.
A hug from you guys would really be great.

Let me just give you a run down of our week:

1. We are over a few more sisters than we had last transfer so we've been having to do double exchanges to make sure we get to go with all of them in a 6 week period. So this week we had exchanges with Sister Smith and Sister Reeves.

2. We had zone meeting this week so Sister Barnes and I got to give 2 training's!! We did an awesome job, I hope!! We talked about integrity which I have come to LOVE! It means basically to think and do what you know is right a  tall times no matter what the consequence. I loved especially when we talked about living by your standards and beliefs even when no one is watching. Be true to yourself! So we did this cool activity where we dug a giant hole in the dirt in the parking lot of the church and we burried our "disobedience" or our weapons of war just like the anti-nephi-lehis in the book of mormon. We all wrote down some kind of disobedience we do as individuals and physically burried them and promised to never unburry them. (Alma 24:15-19 53:14,15,20,21)
We also taught about finding through members which was really needed. We read Mark 4:2-8 and talked about how the fertile ground is the members and we just brainstormed ways to find through embers. And as a zone we came to the conclusion that having a "How can WE help YOU" attitude is what builds that trust.
Then Elder Peterson gave his last testimony before he goes home and he said something that really hit me. He said, "When we apply the Saviors atonement into our lives, we obey." I don't know how many times it needs to be shoved into someones brain, but obedience brings blessings.
And then right after the meeting, I asked for a blessing for some things i've been struggling with. Elder Purcell gave my blessing and here are a few things he said,
Heavenly Father is so proud of you
He is watching out at all times
You are a choice daughter and He loves you
You can find peace through scriptures and as you come to learn more about Christ
Strive to love those around you, especially those whom you serve
They will fell your spirit which you carry.
Continue forward with pure steadfastness
You are here for a purpose; Many people are waiting for your message which you carry.

Isn't that the coolest blessing?! I had made a goal to love more and Heavenly Father knew that and helped me recognize that I have His help always. And I though t it was so great that many people are waiting for the message I bring even with 4 months left.  People are STILL waiting for ME!

3. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PACKAGE! You will have no idea how much i needed that little guy. It seriously brightened my day!! Thank you thank you thank you.

4. Then Jordyn had her baptism this Saturday!! Satan really didn't want her to make those covenants with God because man, this was the craziest baptism yet on my mission!! So we get to the Sumter building an hour early at 6:00pm to fill the font and we open the font doors to find BUGS.. not just one but like twelve little nasties jut hangin out. and among them was a flippin scorpion. So after we got rid of all the bugs we turn on the font and the water is brown... so we let it run for a bit and try to plug the font but it wont pug all the way because it was off set. So we tired to plug it the best we could and called it good. So then we turn the air on and start setting up. The baptism starts and the room is FULL. Literally full. Probably around 70 people there and the first speaker starts talkin & 20 minutes later he is still going.. so we decide to go sneak out and check the font only to find it DRAINED to my ankles. So i threw off my shoes, climbed in that font and stomped that drain like nobodies business (but reverently of course) And then turned the water back on and it got filled just in time as people started to walk into the font room. Satan is a funny guy. Then she was baptized and forgot a towel so we dried her off with paper towels.. hahahahahah Oh just the cherry on top right?

So even though this week was insane, I loved it. It was a growing experience for sure.
All throughout this week, I kept thinking of the childrens song, I feel my saviors love. If you get a chance, look up all the verses, they are lovely.

Well i'm out of time, but I love you.
Thank you for all you do & all your prayers.

Love always,
Sister Kellee Walker

Where to Begin

kay folks.
Well my mind is kind of going a million miles an hour and I don't really know what to think.  I am super overwhelmed with things.. and i'm trying my hardest to be positive.  Let me fill you in on everything that is going on.

If I counted right, I only have 130 days left on my mission.. HOLY CRAP.  That freaks me out to the max. I am in no way ready to come home yet!!!

But on the flip side, I have the greatest companion. She is so good to me. She wrote an Ode to Sister Walker that I wanted to share with you.

Ode to Sister Walker
By Allison Barnes

A Cheerfully Diligent Missionary
Dear posterity, I just wanted to let you know some reasons why you should strive to be like sister walker.
1. Even when she knows it's going to be a hard sacrifice and hurt her heart, she chooses to be obedient. She takes the council of her leaders and immediately obeys. she exercises her faith to follow Jesus Christ to be an exactly obedient missionary.
2. She works hard. Even when she misses her family. When her back, head and whole body is exhausted, she still work's hard. She work's monsoon or HOT sun, sleep or no sleep, food or no food. She acts in faith to follow the saviors example of being diligent and working hard.
3. As good old Billy (my recent convert) might say, she is an angel. She is sweet and kind to everyone and helps everyone feel important and loved. The light she has illuminates the people around her. She helps others choose to become.

Isn't that the greatest? I may have cried a little bit. hahaha

Between you and me, I got to hold a baby this week (: His grandma babysits them and threw out her neck and back right before we came over and she asked me if I would move the baby from his high chair to his swing, so I got to hold that little precious boy & my heart melted. I can't wait for the day when I will have my own family. (: Oh happy day.

We also had Missionary Leadership Council this week & I learned a lot about obedience, working with members and prophets!

And something amazing that happened this week was that President Passey gave me permission to drive back to my old area in Rincon to attend the baptism of a family Sister Delap and I taught. It took them a while but they followed the example of Jesus Christ and entered into the waters of baptism as a family.

Even though this week was a little rough, and i haven't been as happy as I should, I still was able to feel the spirit and feel of my Heavenly Fathers love for me.

This gospel is beautiful, our Savior lives and God is good.

I love you guys so very much.
Keep on keepin on (:

Come what may and love it, right?

Love always, Sister Kellee Walker

1 Samuel 16:7

July 28, 2014

Forr MOM:
Sister Delaps plant only needs watering once a day and just keep in the sun, either outside or inside it doesn't matter

FOR EVERYONE: Also, just a little side note, there is a slight  possibility that President Passey will allow me to extend my mission for 30 days!!!!!!!!!!! Especially because there are so many sisters going home the transfer before and my transfer and not very many coming in.. But it is still all up in the air. I just wanted to hear all of your opinions on it. I don't really know what is the best thing to do but we will see (: We still have a while!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR OLD DADDY!
I hope you all had so much fun in mini tucson (:  It definitely wasn't as hot as it is here, and surprisingly it is suppppper humid too. Because of all the monsoons (: They are my favorite part. They are like the utah summer storms but on steroids. I LOVE THEM.

The Lord truly answered my prayer this week by sending some pretty big monsoons. There is nothing better in this world than standing in the rain and just breathing. Especially when you've been outside all day in 110 degree heat, you've got a lot on your plate, you're overwhelmed, exhausted, not feeling the best and you miss your family. To just stand there, with your eyes closed in the dumping rain and just breathe. Nothing is better.
I have been a little discouraged this week because I haven't been feeling very well. But I am trucking on and seeking the comfort from my Father in Heaven. It was hard especially on dad's birthday, I was really missing him and just needing a big hug and to hear him say, I love you pumpkin. But instead, the Lord gave me another way to feel that comfort. And I found it in D&C 88:6-7 I might have shared this with you before but it's because it's awesome.

"He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth; Which truth shineth. This is the  light of Christ. As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun, and the power thereof by which it was made."

How great is that?!?? So now every time I feel the blistering heat on me (which is every second of every day) I can remember that Jesus loves me. Because He is in the sun and He is always watching over me, making sure I am as happy as I can be.  Also I found something pretty darn cool in 2 Nephi 9:39. Down at the bottom where it says, "..spiritually - minded is life eternal" if you take the first letter of those words, it spells out SMILE. How cute right? (: I just liked that alot.

Things have been good other than my little struggles here and there.
We have a few baptisms coming up in the next few weeks (:
Jordyn, Suzette and Zach (: We are super duper excited.
The Lords work continues to move forward.

I got an email this week from Haileys mama and I even got a letter from her (:
And I heard from Caleb which was fun as well. I wrote him last week and he replied!

I wonder if Bishop Veenker will let me drive his mustang for serving a mission. ;) hehehe

Well my time is up.
I love you all so much!!

Be good this week and have fun with Ted and with the Toad Lewis.

LOVE YOU.

Love always, Sister Kellee Walker

Here Comes the Sun-Do Do Do Do

July 21, 2014

Hey guys!!!

I am sooo excited to talk to you this week (: (: (:

I feel like there isn't anything better in this world than feeling your families love for each other. You guys are great, thank you for all you do.  Dad, it's almost your birthday yah old fart!! How old will you be? Like 55? Daaaang. I sent my package for your birthday AND fathers day.. hahh ooops. Also Ted is in there because I have another teddy bear who is keeping me good company for the time being. Take good care of my Ted.

Mom, sounds like you are doing awesome things for the youth in the ward. God truly is saving the best souls for this time isn't He? They are so awesome and so strong in their faith, I love it. Keep up the great work mama!
Also the Robinson's showed me the picture of you guys when they dropped off Sister Delap's plant. They said you were just cryin. hhaha you cutie. I Love You!!

Keaton, It sure looks like you had fun! It would be nice to hear it from you though.. I miss you. And it hurts my heart that I don't hear from you very much. Especially because I am missing the most important part of your life. I got 3 more letters from Sydney Wisner this week.. she takes time to write me (: Will you try to write me more? Also, there is an elder here in my mission, Elder Taylor who said he wrote you a letter?!! Did you get it? He is awesome, I think you'll like him a lot (:

Okay so are you ready for this week? (:

After MLC, we get together with the zone leaders in our area and plan our zone meeting off of the things we learned at MLC so that we can then train our zone on the things president thinks are important. So as a Sister Training Leader, I give training's at these zone meetings and this week I gave my 6th training and it was by far my favorite!! Sister Barnes and I talked about Respect which included respecting our leaders, our companion and our Heavenly Father. It was so sweet, I loved it. And then we also trained on Charity. HOLY COW THE SPIRIT WAS SO STRONG! We talked about how charity is the pure love of Christ and what we can do to receive Charity. Man, I am learning so much, it's amazing!! I just love being a missionary so much. If you can't tell. hahaha

I convinced a 3 year old that I am a wizard but it was so cute because he couldn't say wizard so he called me the "Lizard" but then he was trying to say wizard and it came out "Fizard" so now he calls me Sister Fizard. It's the cutest thing in the world. Church was really hard this Sunday because all through church they talked about families, marriage and children.. I about lost it. hahah my desire to be a mother is still very very very strong and I thought I had done a pretty good job at tucking that desire away but it surfaced again yesterday. I just have to understand that there is a time and a place for everything and one day, I will be a wonderful mother (: But now is obviously not the time. So i'll take it as it is and move on, one day at a time!!

Our investigator Suzette set a baptism date for September 16th which is AMAZING! We are very excited for her. And Jordyn also has a date for September 9th. The work continues to more forward and I am so blessed to be part of this great work.

We also saw this guy walking his dog and we have been making an effort to talk with everyone so we pulled over and talked to him and it ends up that he is actually a less active member who just moved here and is ready to come back to church. With the move, he thought it would be a good time to make some more changes!! How great is that? I love having the spirit with me always! I want to always make the decisions that will help me keep that spirit with me.

I love this gospel.
I love that you were able to go with Lexi luck for me.
I love that we are an eternal family
And I love my Savior with my whole heart.

Have a great week (:
Happy Birthday week Daddy!!
Be looking for your package! (:

LOVE YOU SO MUCH

Love, Sister Fizard (:

Morning study time - not sure what's in the tupperware.  Hopefully it's something nutritious

My Sore Bum

July 14, 2014

Hey there family!!

We went caving again with our zone this morning and since it has been monsooning, the cave was a little more wet and we were slipping everywhere!! I slipped and fell on my bum and now it is so super sore. hahaha

I was so super excited to hear that you were able to make it to the Killpacks homecoming!! They are amazing people aren't they? I have learned so much from them and I don't think I will ever be able to repay them for all the love and support they showed to me over the year we served together.

And yes, you heard right!! Sister Delap finally got her Visa to Brazil (: My wee little baby is off to bigger and better things! Hahha she was so excited. I can't wait for you to meet all the people I served with. Especially Sister Delap. She will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!

This week was pretty great!!

You already heard about Monday and Tuesday from last week's email so i'll start with Wednesday!

On Wednesday, we were able to go to some service for a recent convert family, the Byerly's. We pulled their weeds and helped them with a lot of yard work. Who knew weeds could grow in such awful heat!! Hahha and we were also able to have our first lesson with our new investigator, Jordyn. She is the absolute cutest thing!! The sister i never had!! (: Hahhaha she is 14 years old and holy cow, a total babe. I really like her a lot!! We set a baptismal date with her for August 9th and she is pumped and ready to go!! We are really excited to spend some time with her. We also had ribs for dinner that night.. so i was a happy girl.

The rest of the week was a little slower except for MLC. We were able to meet with all the leaders in the mission and receive training from President. It was extra special this MLC because it was President Passey's first MLC!! And he did awesome (: I am really excited to serve with him! He has a lot on his plate right now but he is doing an awesome job!! After all, he's got prayers from all his 300ish missionaries!! We also were able to receive our assignments for the sisters we are over. Ready for this..? We are over 6 companionships!! 13 missionaries since one of them is in a trio! Holy moly.. that means double exchanges!! We go on exchanges with all our sisters to make sure they are doing well and being obedient and to help them with any personal things that are going on and it used to be just once a week since we were only over 4 companionships but now we are over 6!! WOAH! Sister Barnes and I have the most sisters to cover which is totally fine, but it's a lot to handle!! I'm excited for the adventures we will continue to have!

I was also able to see Elder Taylor at MLC which was really great! Like I said, I'm excited for you to meet all my missionary buddies.

I am so grateful for this time I have as a missionary. I know it is limited and i'm trying my hardest to be the best I can for the time I have left. There's still so much I want to accomplish (:

I hope you all have a great week
& that you learn something new about our Savior.

Love always,
Sister Kellee Walker
