Psalms 4:7 "Thou hast put gladness in my heart."

I had the opportunity to share my "adoption" story with some investigators and it helped me to realize eternally, how blessed I really am. To have loving, caring, and supportive parents who would do absolutely anything to see me happy. To have a baby brother who loves me despite my imperfections and is sooo patient with me. I have friends who are always there for me. Gosh, I am just so lucky!! What did I do to deserve such a wonderful family?

So funny story.... Last Pday I bought a barbie. I don't know what it is about them but even now, I love them sooooo much!! She even looks like me (: And sorry about using my temple card, I get so very confused with all the money. And since Sister Delap is a visa waiter, all her money plus my money goes on my missionary card and I have to with drawl 130 dollars at the beginning of the month so she will have cash in case she gets sent to Brazil. So last pday was our trial run and I got a little confused and frazzled but it all worked out!!! OH KEATON!! Our zone leaders taught us something awesome that I want you to try sometime. Sister Delap and I tried it and it totally works!! Okay so all you will need is someone to drive a car 50 mph and then take an orange lean out the window a bit and then  bowl (not chuck) the orange in front of you with as much force as is possible and it will roll for a little bit then BOOM it explodes. hahahaha oh my gosh it is hilarious.

Also, The relief society asked me to speak at their 'Progressive Dinner' and that was a lot of fun!! Talking in front of people isn't even scary any more!!  They had me talk about effective ways to share the gospel in every day conversations. And mom, I suggest you go to desseret book or seagull book and buy a book called, "The Power of Every Day Missionaries" By i think Clay Christenson. It is soooooo good. Read it, study it and apply it (: I also got to talk about my experience with Austin & that brought back a lot of great memories! I am so grateful for that experience and for the fun that we had together. I'm glad that we will always have that eternal bond (: He is an amazing missionary & I am sooo very proud of him. I hope he knows that.

More on the missionary side of things; We have 2 baptismal dates!! One with Terry and one with Hailee. Terry is an interesting case. I don't remember if I told you about him yet but I will tell you again. So his wife is a member, just really less active and about a year and a half ago, he was taking the missionary lessons! But then got in a really bad motorcycle accident and he lost a lot of his memory..  It's a miracle that he is able to retain and remember the information we teach him. He can't remember things in the past along with things that he is just told. But amazingly, he has been remembering EVERYTHING we teach him. We ask a lot of questions to check for understanding and he comes right back with an amazing answer, right on the dot. His baptism date is for February 22 but because we are taking our time teaching him, we may have to push it back a little. He is doing amazing things though. And Hailee is a Former investigator as well and she is 10 years old. She was taking the lessons a long while ago and was waiting for her dad to baptize her. We set the baptism date with her yesterday for March 8th!!

Great things are happening right now! There are still days where it is so hard.  This week we ran into a few people who really had nasty feelings towards Mormons and it truly broke my heart. There are a lot of things that keep happening that try my faith. I have my testimony though, and that is what keeps me going. (:

I love you guys so very much.
And I'm grateful for the time that I have to write you.
Be safe and remember the covenants you've made with our Heavenly Father.
I love you so.

Love always, Sister Kellee Walker

Sister Kellee Walker's Tuscon, Arizona Mission - February 3, 2014

Hola Familia
February 3, 2014

Acts 17:27-29 (JST)
That they should seek the Lord, if they are willing to find him for he is not far from every one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver or stone, graven by art and man's device.

This week has been pretty casual. But it's been a good casual week!! The craziest thing that happened this week was that our ward boundaries changed and we lost 100(ish) of our members and less actives including Sharon & Donella.... our recent converts. But they will make great friends in the Bonanza Ward so I don't need to stress over it. Elder Donaldson (from my same High school & YSA ward) is in the Bonanza Ward so they will be just fine and dandy. Brendan knows him so he can vouch for me! Hahah

OH WAIT! I just remembered something else crazy that happened!! Our apartment is in the East Stake so we have to drive about 10 minutes to actually enter our Ward but we live in a pretty sketchy apartment complex and our neighbor (who we've come to the conclusion that she is schizophrenic) got arrested! We got to watch the whole thing from our deck and it was so entertaining! It was like watching TV but even better. She was in her footie pajama's and kept saying over and over again, "I'm diabetic!! You can't take me to prison!" From what we gathered, her boy friend bought her a watch and she was all paranoid that the watch had a camera in it and that he was always watching her.  Yeah, like I've said many times.. Tucson is crazy.

Sister Delap and I have a pet cacti fruit. His name is tubby and I attached a picture for you to see him. He's a little cutie pie.  They grow on top of pretty much any kind of cactus but Tubby came from a barrel cactus. We opened one of them to see what was inside and probably like 17 black seeds fell out and a bunch of SLIME. Like really runny boogers is how Sister Delap explained it. HAHAHAH Sister Delap & I have lots of fun together. We like to make jello and blow bubbles and paint our nails. So many funs were had this week.

So we have been having a little bit of a rough time with investigators this week. Nicole informed us that she is moving back to away and doesn't want to get baptized.. but we are still working with her, so we won't give up!! Brother Weston is doing amazing though. He has a baptism date for Feb 22!! He got in a motorcycle accident a year ago and he forgot nearly everything so his wife has been teaching him about his life and she brought up religion and she is LDS and he had never had an interest in Mormons before but for some reason he all of the sudden is interested so we have been teaching him, but we have to teach him very simply and very slowly. Which I'm good at (: So it's great. We took Sister Killpack (the Mission President's wife) to a lesson with him and she had a lot of great things to say about how I teach!! Being a missionary & especially a trainer is so much fun. You would be proud!

Our mission is doing something really special that I want to tell you about. It's called a 40 day fast. Don't freak out mom, I'm not going to have to fast for 40 days!! As a mission, all the missionaries fasted yesterday for our individual investigators and less actives and then we are all assigned as a district, one day out of 40 to fast for other missionaries & their investigators. So everyday, someone is going to be fasting for me and my investigators. It is going to bring us soooo close as a mission. I am really excited.

Dad, you mentioned Sister Culley who was in Morgan's ward? Well crazy, but I did get to meet her! And Sister Delap, my current companion was in the same District in the MTC with Sister Culley. CRAZY small world. I love it.

Keaton, I have a riddle for you & dad to figure out!

What is more evil than the Devil but is more Powerful than God? Poor people have it, but rich people don't and if you eat it, you'll die.
What is it?

Also mom, sorry i used so much money on my credit card last week. I had a blond moment and got confused with my cards and accidentally used my credit card instead of my missionary card. they look really similar. I'll be more careful i promise!!

Thank you for all the pictures. I just love them to pieces! They bring big smiles to my face. Tell Morgan i say HELLO and Lexi too. I miss her a lot & it hurts my heart that I still haven't heard from her.

I love you all so much.
SO MUCH.
(especially you Keaton!) You're a stud.

What a Wonderful Week

January 27, 2014

Sharon & Donella's baptism was fantastic. One of the best ones that I have been to thus far on my mission. They were a tough case to crack, but in God's timing, they came around & received the answers they have been searching for & were able to make sacred covenants with God. The ward has done amazing at friend-shipping them & including them in activities. I just love this ward sooooo much. Especially Bishop Beeston. He is an amazing man & reminds me so much of Bishop Veenker. I really look up to their dedication & the sacrifices they make to support the ward.

My companion is amazing. She is from Atlanta, Georgia and we might be related some how because she said that her great grandpa or something used to be a Walker but changed his last name after a family dispute. So who knows!! But she is awesome. We get to geek out together about Adventure Time and other cartoons like Avatar the Last Airbender and the stars and space. It's awesome. She was in the MTC for 6 weeks because she is actually going to Brazil, she is just waiting for her Visa. But I am so so so lucky to be training her. Who knew training could be so fun!! I am learning a lot about myself and a lot about my strengths as a teacher. I just love it & I love the feeling of working hard together to accomplish God's work. It's wonderful.

There is a quote I loooooved. It says,

"If we spend our days waiting for fabulous roses, we could miss the beauty and wonder of the tiny forget-me-nots that are all around us. This is not to say that we should abandon hope or tamper our goals. NEVER stop striving for the best that is in you.  NEVER stop hoping for all of the righteous desires of your heart. But don't close your eyes and hearts to the simple and elegant beauties of each days ordinary moments that make up a rich, well-lived life." President Uchtdorf

This week has just been a really good one. I have realized a lot about God's will for myself and as I've acted upon His will, we have truly seen the blessings. We have 3 baptismal dates set for February 22 which is soooo amazing and we have been able to reactivate 3 people which is just as important as baptisms.

Life is good & I am happy.

Since my time is up, Remind me to tell you my 12:15 story. HAHAHA

Love you guys & have so much fun at the cabin!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!

Pretty sure this picture was added just for Kellee's daddy

It's all about starting the day with a good healthy breakfast!

Alma 38:5

"If you are tempted to give up: Stay yet a little longer."

Dieter F Uchtdorf

Hey there my beautiful wonderful family. Oh how I just adore you all so much. How grateful I am for your kind words of support & for your prayers. I felt them each and every moment of the day. Like you guessed, these past few weeks have been hard. That's all I can say about it. And I knew a mission would be hard, but never would I have imagined having such strong desires that I had never had before. It's been a challange for me to balance all of my wants and desires and dreams. But with the help of a loving President, I think I'm getting the hang of it & finally getting back into the swing of things! But seriously, thank you for all your love. What would I do without you all?

During studies the other day, I wanted to focus on understanding my purpose. So I focused on our mission theme which is Choose To Become. Choose means to decide and Become means to grow to be. And I was thinking about all the things I could become, so I made a list.
Things I can become:
Happy. Proud. Patient. Diligent. Obedient. Christlike. Kind. An Instrument to the Lord. A better daughter. A peacemaker. Prepared. Sensitive to promptings. A nurturer. Righteous. Faithful. Virtuous. Modest. An example. Honest. Respectful. Encouraging. Comforting. Thoughtful. Understanding. Loyal. A covenant Keeper. Responsible. Supportive. Humble. Worthy. Forgiving. A strong foundation. Loving. Kellee Jo Walker

There are so many things I can become but I can't become these things on my own. I NEED God's help & I can get His help as I turn to Him. I've learned a lot about humility and how to recognize gratefully my dependence on the Lord. And to know that I have a constant need for his support. My talents and abilities are gifts from God. And I've also learned a lot about the Grace of God. We can receive His Divine help and strength through the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ether 12:27)

I've also learned the the only way to REAL and LASTING happiness is to simply live the gospel; to keep the commandments, pray for strength, repent of sins, and to give meaningful service. And most importantly, I've learned how to face adversity with faith. And we accomplish that through TRUST. I have to trust God that when I give everything to him, all of my heart, then he will bless me.  God knows me perfectly and he wants me to be happy. All he asks is for me to submit cheerfully with patience to ALL his will.

"Give me all. I want YOU. All of you. I don't want to only prune a branch here and a branch there; rather, I want the whole tree out. Hand it all over to me, the whole outfit, all of your desires, all of your wants and wishes and dreams. Turn them all over to me, give yourself to me and I will make you a new self in my image. Give me yourself and in exchange I will give you Myself. My will shall become your will. My heart shall become your heart." CS Lewis.

That was kind of a lot of things. But I'm going to be honest with you. I have learned more in these last 2 weeks, than I have my last 7 months here. I have learned how to rely on my Savior. And that Is soooooo important. I'm still learning, and I'm still growing. I'm not perfect & I still have desires that may not be the desires God has for me right now. So ultimately, I'm trusting Him and things will work out in His time, In His way.

Also, As you may have guessed, I didn't get transfered. BUT.. ......

President asked me to TRAIN!!
My new companions name is Sister Delap from Atlanta Georgia and she is actually a Visa waiter to go to Brazil.. But that doesn't make a difference to me. She is here for a reason and I love her to pieces. She is Asian & I think they are the cutest things ever! (: Also, she watched Avatar the Last Airbender & Adventure Time so I can geek out with her.) I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be training a brand new missionary and that God is trusting me to teach one of His precious daughters.

Things are looking up, and I'm finding my happy place within this gospel. There are obviously things I still need to do here, or President wouldn't have asked me to train... I'm so excitedddddddddddd

Love you all.
Especially you Keaton (:
Thank you for your email. & Hopefully you like my little gift I bought you.
Love you love you love you.

Until next week!! God be with you

Pictures of Sister Walker - January 7, 2014

Hi, I don't have much time but wanted to get this email to you. Here are a few pictures from our floor cleaning morning. They were at my house Dec 14, 2013. I am so happy we were able to get my grout cleaned on my tile floor a few days before my son returned from his Mission. With Sister Cook and my boys Aaron and Logan.

I know I have more....need to find what file I put them in. Have a wonderful day.

Happy New Year Fam Bam!

Monday, January 6, 2014

You are going to DIE MOM. Sister Cook & I got the freaking flu. We got it on Saturday.
How ubserd is that?!??? And we took Saturday off and just rested and then called Sister Killpack on Sunday because we weren't feeling all that better & you wanna know what she told us? She said it sounds just like a head cold.   But it's okay, we took Sunday evening off but shhhhhh don't tell Sister Killpack.

Our church time changed too! But guess what? It starts at 2:00 in the afternoon. How crazy! Fasting was so very hard & we were both sick so we decided to eat something & fast next Sunday.
This week has just been really hard for me. There has been a lot of trials come up and it has been really hard emotionally. Besides being sick,

We get to go to the temple on Wednesday and then go listen to Elder Holland speak on Saturday!
I love you guys & I don't want to let you down.

On the bright side, Sharon & Donella are still getting baptized on January 18th (: It is going to be a beautiful service. We have someone coming to do a surprise musical number and she is going to play the harp. I'm really excited. And guess what? Bishop Beeston asked me to give the closing prayer and I wasn't even scared. Huzzah

Also, If Jason isn't dating anyone, I give him permission to date my Companion when she gets home. She is turning 23 the end of this month and I think they would be a perfect fit. (: Hahaha

I love you so much.

LOVE YOU!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year from Sister Walker
